After travelling back to Freiburg yesterday I had nothing else to do *cough* than seeing my boyfriend in Basel today. But before that I visited the cathedral to satisfy my photobug. My beloved Nikon seemed to be sick the last weeks, but a miracle happened and her sickness (some strange noises and vibrations) is fading away.
I really really love old churches. Not that I am religious but standing inside a building several hundred years, sometimes over a 1000 years old – it always leaves me breathless. The architecture itself is very impressing, but then – just imagine the stones could tell you all the stories they must have heard and seen. All that time that is captured… and you can touch it.

That stone looks fantastic. Completely agree about being in awe about old buildings, always fasinating. I’ve got a big old cathedral right next door to me but I have yet to go in there, I might go to tomorrow.
